MAIN POOLS (Season, Weekly)
All rules for the Main Pool remain the same. Picks are made with the spread that is posted on the “Picksheet” on my website.
Weekly results are tabulated and the highest number is awarded $100.00.
All weekly results are totaled for the season results.
The number of people paid in the overall standings is based on how many people are entered.
The tiebreaker for the Weekly award is the Monday Night point total that you must put in on the “Picksheet”.
There is no second tiebreaker so if two or more people tie, the $100.00 will be split.
The pool will begin on Sunday, September 10 Every game must be picked.
This is the only mandatory pool. That means to enter any of the side pools, you must enter the Main Pool.
Cost of entry is $100.00.
Survivor Pool
This is much like a suicide pool with the only exception being you may pick any of the 32 teams each and every week.
You may pick any team as many times as you would like.
On the “Picksheet” you will select one team that you think will win outright (no spread) that week.
It is in a drop down box below the line that says “Survivor Pool”.
If you don’t make a selection for the Survivor Pool, you will be eliminated from the pool.
If the team you pick loses its game, you will be eliminated from the pool.
This pool continues until there is one player left, all remaining survivors go out in the same week or until the end of the regular season.
If all remaining Survivors go out in the same week, the group of remaining survivors that lost will split the money evenly.
If there are more than one survivor at the end of the regular season the remaining survivors will split the money evenly.
If there is just one player left at the end of any week, then that player wins the entire pot.
Payouts will be determined by the number of entries.
I will not knowingly allow a “splitting” of the Survivor pool among remaining members.
Cost of entry is $25.00.
Survivor Pool II
Please take note. On the “Picksheet” you select one team that you think will win outright (no spread) that week.
You will enter your suicide pick in the “Comments” box near the bottom of the “Picksheet”.
Please just indicate the pool and the pick by typing it in this box, ie Suicide – Baltimore.
You can only select a team once throughout the entire regular season (each week select a different team).
If you select a team twice it will count as a loss for that week. No pick will also count as a loss for that week.
Commissioner Mike will do his best to let you know that you have selected a duplicate team but ultimately it is the player’s responsibility.
THIS IS A DOUBLE KNOCKOUT POOL. IT WILL TAKE 2 LOSSES TO BE ELIMINATED FROM THIS POOL.
This pool continues until there is one player left, all remaining survivors go out in the same week or until the end of the regular season.
If all remaining poolies go out in the same week, they will evenly split the money.
If at the end of the regular season there is more than one player left, the tiebreaker will be the number of games lost within the suicide pool (either 0 or 1). If one player has no losses then he/she would be the winner. If a tie still exists the pot will be split equally to all tied players. For example, if two players have 0 losses and three people have 1 loss, the pot will be split between the two players with 0 losses. Payouts will be determined by the number of entries. I will not knowingly allow a “splitting” of the Suicide Pool among remaining members.
Cost of entry is $50.00.
Margin Pool
The Margin Pool is similar to the Suicide Pool in many ways.
With the Margin Pool you pick one team each week.
Once a pool member picks a team, he cannot pick that team again.
If his/her team wins, the winning margin or margin of victory is added to his/her season total.
If his/her team loses, then the winning margin is subtracted from his/her season point total.
The pool member that has the most points at the end of the regular season is the winner.
Total wins during the season will be the tiebreaker.
The Margin Pool is different to the Suicide Pool in that you play the entire season, you are NOT eliminated with a loss.
You make your pick where there is a drop down box below the title “Margin Pool” on the “Picksheet”.
A missed week loses the largest margin of the missed week. ALSO, A DUPLICATE PICK LOSES THE LARGEST MARGIN OF THE DUPLICATE WEEK.
Please watch your picks on this pool as we had problems last year with players picking a team more than once and taking a big loss on their point total.
You can click on the box “Show my Margin Pool Picks” just below where you make your pick to find out which teams you have left to pick.
Payouts will be determined by the number of entries.
Cost of entry is $25.00.
Pick Four Pool
In this side pool, you pick just 4 games against the spread each week.
If you win all 4 games, then you win or share the pot equally with other winners.
If nobody gets all 4 games correct, that week’s pot is carried over to the next week.
For example, if the weekly pot is $140.00 and it is not won in Week 1, then the pot for Week 2 will be $280.00.
This pool also has overall winners based on the sum of your weekly totals.
The amount of money in the pot is based on the following:
Each player contributes $5.00 per week. Four dollars of it goes to the weekly pot and one dollar of it goes to the overall money.
The $5.00 weekly contribution by each player is paid for the whole season in advance. Therefore the entry fee is $85.00.
In the final week (Week 17), if nobody gets 4 right then the person or people who have 3 right are the winners.
Your picks for this pool are entered in the High 5 pool section of the Picksheet..
Last Man Out -
Last Man Out is an elimination game where only the Last Man Out pool players with the one, two or three lowest winning totals each week (including ties AND zeroes) are out. The number eliminated depends on the number of entries. Your weekly “Picksheet” is used for this pool so you don’t have to enter your picks in any special place on the “Picksheet”. Your total is taken from how many you had correct in the Main Pool. Elimination is based on wins for the WEEK only, not total wins for the year.
If a player does not submit picks for the week, he/she will receive a zero win total for the week in the Main Pool, be eliminated from the Last Man Out pool, but NOT be included in the low totals.
Whoever is left after the elimination moves on to the next week. The cycle continues each week as the players with the lowest winning totals that week are out and the remaining pool moves on to the next week, etc. This game runs the entire season or until one player is left.
After Week 17, the lowest winning totals are eliminated just like in previous weeks and the remaining player(s) will split the prize pool. If a week completely removes all remaining players (meaning all players tie with the lowest win totals), those players going in to that week will split the prize pool.
EXCEPTION: If there are two or three players left after any week up to Week 15 and there is two or more weeks left in the season, then only the one lowest win total for each week will be eliminated. For example:
After Week 15, there is Gord, Bobby and Suzie still left standing in the Last Man Out pool. For weeks 16 and 17, there will only be the one lowest win total (plus ties) eliminated from the pool. So if Bobby had 11 for the week and Gord and Suzie had each got 9 correct in Week 16, Bobby would be the sole winner of the prize pool. But if Bobby had 11, Suzie had 9 and Gord had 8, then Gord would be eliminated and Bobby and Suzie would move on to Week 17 to declare a winner.
Cost of entry is $25.00.
Deadlines - Pick sheets are due Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The pick sheet is posted on Tuesday or Wednesday each week.
